About Dwayne Thomas:
Loss = Grief + Health = Hope
That's how I do math. I'm a Certified Coach Practitioner specializing in Grief and Healthy Aging. I'm glad you're here and hope you'll find something that speaks to you. Because what matters most now is you.
After watching Dr. Pam Popper, the Founder and Executive Director of The Wellness Forum, share her expertise in the documentaries Forks Over Knives and Food Choices, I decided to become a certified Food Over Medicine instructor to teach workshops based on her eye-opening book. Like Pam, I believe it's up to us to take control of our own health and well-being.
As a baby boomer, I'm hearing more and more these days about people my age who have died suddenly or who suffer from chronic illness and disease. Decades of bad habits and poor lifestyle choices can lead to debilitating conditions that compromise the quality and eventually cut short people's lives. What make these sad stories even worse is the domino effect. In the wake of a premature death, the depleted caretakers, grieving partners and devastated family members often suffer their own health decline.
Whether you have good insurance coverage or not, conventional medicine is simply not designed to prevent illness and disease. Relying on an over-burdened healthcare system that routinely recommends surgeries or prescribes medications to treat symptoms while doing little to address root causes is not a great option to improve health outcomes. Particularly when it's within our power to break the vicious cycle of loss upon loss by committing to take care of ourselves now--physically and emotionally.
Aging well helps us grieve well. Grieving well helps us age well.
Dwayne Thomas Coaching wants to inspire you to raise your awareness of what’s going on inside so you can consciously reflect on the available options and make informed choices that align with how you truly want to lead your life. The practice moves back and forth fluidly through Awareness, Reflection & Choice:
You don't really need some expert to tell you what grief is. You may not have words for it, but you're the only one who knows how you feel. I'm here to listen to your story and help you restore confidence, hope and trust in yourself so you can begin re-imagining who you want to become. If this resonates with you and you're ready for positive change, let's talk.
